Penis - The penis consists of head called the glans and shaft.
- At the tip of glans there is urethral opening through which urine and semen come out. The glans is covered by foreskin called prepuce, which can be rolled back. The glans is richly supplied with nerve endings, which makes it very sensitive. At the back part of glans is rim called corona. On the underside where head and body of penis meet there is another sensitive spot called frenulum.
- Penile shaft is made up of three cylindrical erective sponge tissues. Two lie parallel to each other called corpora cavernosa and third lies above and contains urethra and is called corpous spongiosum. This corpous spongiosum is expanded at its base to form urethral bulb and at its tip to form glans penis.
